Shireen is 23 years old and lives in Ramallah. She works as a secretary for a pharmaceutical company, has two brothers and five sisters, and lives with her parents in a small apartment.
When she was 9 she was diagnosed with keratoconus, a degenerative disorder where the cornea becomes thin and cone-shaped. It can cause severe distortion of vision and sensitivity to light.
